How many treatments should be treated with FINE SCAN ?

An effective treatment regimen is 4 to 6 sessions spaced about 3 - 6 weeks apart depending on your needs and response to the treatments. Healing usually takes 3-7 days. The procedure can be performed on a Thursday or Friday, so you can return to work the following Monday.

How is Fine Scan LASER performed?

First, your skin will be cleansed. Then, a topical anesthetic cream will be applied to the treatment area about 40 minutes prior to treatment. Actual procedure time normally takes 20 - 30 minutes depending on the condition and the size of the area treated. Our forced air cooling device along with numbing cream will aid in comfort during the procedure.

What side effects can I expect after treatment and how long will they last?

Swelling and redness are the most common side effects from resurfacing laser treatment. Any swelling is typically minimal and subsides within a day or two, and any redness typically fades within a few days.

Other temporary side effects may include minor itching, dry skin, peeling or flaking, and a bronzed skin appearance. There is a very limited risk of infection, hyperpigmentation, or scarring. The intensity and duration of side effects depend on the aggressiveness of treatment and on your particular healing characteristics. Your physician will provide specific instructions about what to expect and how to minimize any side effects.

How to care for your skin after Laser Resurfacing treatment?

Cleanse skin with gentle, soap-free cleanser no more than twice a day. Use a soap-free cleanser and rinse with tepid water. Do not scrub or rub at the skin. Gently pat the skin dry with a towel or let the skin air-dry.?Laser resurfacing treatment is an aggressive treatment, and post-laser skin is red, swollen and delicate, so treat your skin gently.

Keep skin moist by applying emollient lotions and creams. Apply healing ointment liberally for three days following treatment to speed recovery.

Avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks. Sunlight can cause severe damage to skin after laser treatment, so it is crucial to remain indoors for at least several days. If you must go outside, make sure you slather your skin in sun block and wear a wide brimmed hat and sunglasses. Even after your skin has healed, it will be sensitive to sunlight, so continue to apply sunscreen and wear hats before going outside.
